What do you think of Madonna's Hard Candy cover?

By Jude Rogers

Christ alive, what is that? Well, it's the artwork for Madonna's new album, Hard Candy, which was released to the America press on Friday. I for one have spent all weekend wondering what on earth it all means, whether it is good for my health, and whether I have started to hallucinate a schooner in all those pink candy swirls.

What's good about it: The eyeliner. The big lady pants. And the fact that it's Madonna's tribute to early '80s roly-poly dynamo Big Daddy. Or at least it looks like she's rocking the wrestler look with that belt. Although knee-high boots and brassieres didn't feature highly on Saturday morning sport when I was a nipper, admittedly. They left that for the watershed, perhaps.

What's bad about it: That font. All that eye-leeding pink. And I'm not sure about that come-hither gob-open pose either. Is it supposed to be provocative or posey? Either way, it looks like our girl's having a yawn.

Want to FIGHT ABOUT IT? I'm in the red corner, come ON!

Thigh flash deadline

In 5 months, Madonna will hit 50 and at that point, I will feel wrong looking at her inner thighs. Until then, she's fine. I think she looks great actually. She could even re-direct some of that eyeliner to her top lip to bring back the old DIY beauty spot look, circa 1990.

C- - Must try harder.

The first time I saw it I had to go to her official site to make sure it wasn't a hoax. It looks like a piece of coursework in a GCSE computer class, and that font choice is unforgivable.
