Martin Amis

London Fields turned into film

When we first heard news of a London Fields film, we thought it was going to be about the area, in the style of oops-where-are-all-the-black-people Notting Hill. But it's not. Martin Amis's cult 1989 novel is being adapted for the big screen by Hallam Foe director David Mackenzie.

Intriguingly, the Guardian reveals that the script is being worked on by Roberta Hanley, co-founder of Muse Productions, who were also behind American Psycho. Which means that it could pull off the same trick of turning a novel deemed misogynistic on its release into a film that appeals to all.
