After being arrested a whopping six years ago after an alleged video tape of him having sex with an underage girl made its way into the hands of the police, R Kelly is finally off to court to face charges of child pornography.

God bless the American justice system – though, on the bright side, if he had been locked up since 2002, he might never have made the oddly compelling hip-hopera Trapped In The Closet.

Making matters harder for the prosecution however, is that fact that the girl who appears on the tape - which was actually estimated to have been made anything from eight to 10 years ago – now denies it was her.

Kelly does face 14 other counts relating to child pornography – though seven have been dropped since he was initially arrested, but it's likely that he'll be banged up one way or another, facing up to 15 years in chokey.
