You’ve got to give it to Nick Cave, a man who’s survived heroin, dating the amazing Polly Harvey without dying of heartbreak, and killing Sir Kylie Minogue with a rock. There’s his voice: simultaneously as smooth as a baby’s bottom and as filthy as a shag behind some bins. Then there’s his ‘tache: a kingly hair-slug that works brilliantly despite it being an obvious reaction to its owner’s thinning thatch. Then there’s the Bad Seeds: menacing, fun, a little bit wrong and a million bits right.
