We are gobsmacked, shell-shocked, almost paralysed with speechlessness. Why? George Lamb, the much-reviled, misogynistic 6Music idiot morning DJ has won the coveted Sony Radio Rising Star award.

The Sony Radio award website says this: "Lamb swept to victory taking the most votes from the public for this new 'people's choice' award. Since his radio debut in April last year, George has become the latest star of BBC 6 Music with his blend of surrealist humour, irreverent interviewing techniques and tongue-in-cheek antics."

To which we say: WHAT THE F**K? But also...

(1) Who the crapping Jesus voted for him? ready know that nearly 3,000 have signed an online petition, and that George's petition in response was an embarrassing flop.

(2) Irreverent interview techniques? Knowing NOTHING about the bands he interviews, making sexist comments to Cat Power and Kate Bush, and shouting "shabba" every other second? Oh yeah, Lesley Douglas, it's the music that matters, isn't it?

(3) Surrealist humour? What, having a mofo-ing cravat day? Christ alive, radio movers-and-shakers, gong this comedy genius!

We also read elsewhere that Lesley's little prince has been signed up to present E4's Big Brother's Little Brother and ITV2's The Fashion Project with Abi Clancy, which obviously proves this God among men is in it for the music rather than the celebrity. Oh, sorry, I mean the other way around don't I, you colossal digital radio-killing dickhead?

We haven't quenched our anger yet, Lamb-o. We have plans up our sleeves. You wait, boy. You bloody wait.
