They've just finished a Skins-sponsored tour of the UK, but don't hold it against them, beause Rhydian, Justin and Ritzy, ie The Joy Formidable, are a mighty trio indeed.

We don't know much about them – yet – but what we do know is this. They make crackling, soundscapey guitar pop, they sound a wee bit sinister, guitar playing bleached-blonde frontwoman is obviously an utter star (well, how could you not be with a name like frickin' Ritzy?), they sound not unlike The Rakes doing the fandango with Spiritualized and um, they're from North Wales, but they've now moved to London. Oh and last but not least – we whole-heartedly know that you should be listening to them now. No, not then, now – yep, right now.

Should you wish to see them, they're booked to play Latitude festival, and they're gracing a prime selection of the UK's toilet venues this summer – the lucky sods.
