Dr Dre finishes Detox, Li-Lo goes Toxic. Supergrass go glange

By Jude Rogers

If you're a music news-gobbler who isn't up to their eyebrows in cow-pats and scrapyard fire smoke in Glastonbury Fayre, then, good for you, squeaky-cleanie. Also, we have some guff for you here that has precisely NOTHING TO DO with that underselling, Shakin' Stevens-loving mudbath. Thank the rainy heavens indeed!

Firstly, Dr Dre's Detox is nearly finished! Not his cabbage and rat's pee diet, – ha ha, you – but his long-awaited album that Rolling Stone cannily called "the rap equivalent of Guns n' Roses' Chinese Democracy...long in the making, oft-delyaed and sometimes entirely fictional". Our Snoop has heard the bulk of it, though, so it must be imminent. And what did he say? "Dre played so much for me it knocked my head off". A bit of gaffa tape 'round the jugular will sort that out, Doggo.

Elsewhere, forces favourite Lindsay Lohan has confirmed that her third studio LP will be called Spirit In The Dark (which sounds like a Barbara Cartland novel or an account of a midnight tryst with a bottle of Glenmorangie) and that she's nabbed producers Bloodshy & Avant (architects of Britney's brilliant Toxic), Stargate (knob-twiddlers behind Beyonce, Rihanna, Ne-Yo) and the ubiquitous Pharrell Williams, who's she's got singing on her first single off the album (which, boys and girls, is called Playground – aww). Is Pharrell giving Lindsay a nice little thank-you after her cameo on N.E.R.D's Everybody Nose video? We think so.

Finally back in Britain, Supergrass have a rockumentary coming out in August. What's it called? Glange Fever. Of course. Answers on a slightly grotty postcard about the hell glange means, please – the ruder suggestions the better.

Hmmm

words that rhyme with glange:

flange.

They should have just called it flange fever - that way we know what it means and it's still just as grim.
OR they should have just gone with glandular - why shorten that?
Am I missing the point?
