The Walkmen Go Nosferatu

By Wendy Roby

We have been listening to The Walkmen's new record quite a lot recently. It is perfect for the gathering storms, battered trees and darker nights of Autumn, when all you want to do is eat chicken and tarragon pie or bangersanmash. As if to prove that the internet is the best thing ever invented, we have this, a marvellous video which accompanies non-single In The New Year. It has Hamilton Leithauser in scary facepaint (our favourite new trend - thank you, Drums of Death) and bits of Nosferatu for added spooky.

Bit of a shame, but they are not releasing this in time for Halloween in the UK. We get The Blue Route as the first single off the album You & Me, and that will come out on November 27th. It is still very good. Perhaps they will release In The New Year, in the New Year. Ah yes, we see what they are doing now.

Until then, you can see them live, here:

October: 28th London ULU, 29th Manchester Academy 3, 30th Bristol Thekla, 31st Leeds Cockpit

November: 1st Glasgow Stereo, 2nd Dublin Button Factory
