It Takes Two
Tegan Quin + Augusten Burroughs = Good Idea
Spin magazine have started a night called Liner Notes, which brings the music and book worlds together for a charitable purpose. Last week they hosted their first ever one, and Augusten Burroughs (Running With Scissors) teamed up with Tegan & Sara's Tegan Quin for a talk / performance event in New York. Spin has video of the whole affair, and we wish we had been there.

Kylie + Dannii + Abba = high campery
Pop siblings Kylie and Dannii Minogue have recorded a song together, but this ain't no attempt at familial chart domination, oh no – it's for the theme tune to a new sitcom.

The Kills do art, duet with Arctic Monkey
There's a muso-art exhibition going on in Brussels right now, featuring works by Yoko Ono, Brian Eno, Patti Smith, David Byrne, Nick Zinner, Chicks On Speed, Antony & The Johnsons, Pete Doherty, Alan Vega, Fischerspooner, Miss Kittin and The Kills. It's called 'It's Not Only Rock'n'Roll Baby!' which is, for some reason, quite funny, if you imagine it being shouted in a Belgian accent.

Sam Sparro rescues Li-Lo's music career
We love a Lohan story, but her music efforts, not so much (apart from her all-girl punk band in Freaky Friday). So it's with interest that we note, via SS himself, a promised Sam Sparro / Li-Lo collaboration. Since Black & Gold proved he can do monster pop hits with panache, does this mean Linds is going credible?

The Strokes? Tick! Pharrell? Tick! (OK, it's the same song, but still.) Now Santogold is working her way through the cream of the musical crop with a string of future collaborations, including tracks with Jay-Z, Beastie Boys and Talking Heads' David Byrne.
